Mr. Federico Palavecino is Argentinean lawyer with 25 years of experience in tax law and natural resources law, acquired in various positions in multinational companies, such as Legal Director at Barrick Argentina, Regional Tax Director at Barrick South America, and Tax and Legal Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers. In such roles, he was engaged in planning, negotiating and implementing investment projects in Argentina, Chile, Peru and Dominican Republic for more than USD 10bn.
Mr. Palavecino graduated with honors at the University of Buenos Aires in 1993, following which he obtained a Diploma in Negotiation (UCA 1995), a Specialization Degree in Business Law (UBA 1997), a Customs Broker Diploma (AFIP 2005), Masters in Business Administration (IAE 2010), Diploma in Direction of Mining Projects (UAI 2014) and is concluding a Specialization Degree in History (2019).
Mr. Palavecino coauthored books on Value Added Tax and Exports (1997), Mining Royalties (1997), Customs and tax infractions (1999) and Current Issues in Mining Law (2000) as well as several publications in specialized magazines. He has been professor of Commercial Law and of Tax Law at the University of Buenos Aires, and lectures at the Master in Mining Law (University of San Juan) and Master in Tax Law (Universidad Austral).
