People, business and law in balance

Labour and Employment

Strategic legal advice on employment matters, labour relations and workplace compliance.

At Alfaro Abogados, we provide comprehensive advice on Labour Law and Union Relations to domestic and multinational companies across a wide range of industries, supporting them both in the day-to-day management of their employment relationships and in strategic decision-making.

Our advice covers the entire employment lifecycle: hiring arrangements, employment agreements, internal policies, compensation and benefits, working hours, leaves of absence, disciplinary measures, expatriates and termination processes. We have particular experience in restructurings, workforce reductions and the termination of executives and senior personnel, participating from the definition of the strategy through to the negotiation and formalization of the corresponding agreements.

We also advise on workplace accidents and occupational illnesses, occupational risks and social security, and we participate in labour audits and due diligence processes together with our Corporate and Tax departments in connection with mergers, acquisitions and corporate reorganizations.

In Collective Labour Law and Union Relations, we represent our clients in negotiations with trade unions and union representatives, collective bargaining agreements and arrangements, collective agreement and union classification matters, collective disputes and proceedings before administrative authorities.

Our practice is complemented by solid experience in individual and collective labour litigation, including highly complex matters of significant economic importance.

We work closely with the Human Resources, Legal and Management teams of our clients, with a preventive, practical and strategic approach focused on understanding each client’s business, anticipating contingencies and finding solutions tailored to their needs.
