| Professional Experience

Mr. Federico Palavecino, who co-leads the Alfaro Abogados Mining Team, which he joined after serving as the Argentine Legal Director (2018-2019) and South America Tax Director (2004-2017) for a multinational mining company. Previously, he was a Tax and Legal Manager of a Big Four Accounting Firm (1994-2000).

Federico’s main focus of practice is on advisory services to ongoing operations of various gold, silver and lithium mining companies established in Argentina. He regularly lectures to graduate students on Tax Incentives, and on Conflicts and Negotiation. He also leads an Executive Program for In-House Lawyers. He has written several books, including Current Issues on Mining Law (EU, 2000) and Mining Royalties (UBA, 1997), as well as various articles in several legal journals.
